Easter was GREAT this year! We invited everyone over to our house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt.....

The Easter Bunny hid some goodies for the kids in the morning...

Grandma, Pop, Judy, Geri, Holly, Chad, Haley, Maegan, Sydney, and Taylor came over, and in the midst of getting everyone ready for the Easter egg hunt...we noticed Oliver got festive for Easter...

Then the best part... hanging out! Love everyone being together and having fun!

Easter prep

Easter fell during Spring Break, which was perfect! It gave us a day or two to prepare... the kids loved the preparation... it was soo nice to be home with them and do all the fun stuff for Easter!

First was egg dying... a venture I never thought I would attempt with the kids.. but it actually wasn't that bad, and most importantly the kids have fun!

Not too bad... of course we had to mix colors... :)

I know my 8th grade students would not be able to do this... seriously impressive...

Zoey Reads to Dax

This particularly sweet one night..... especially since it was a particularly crazy day...

Just made popcorn without a microwave for the first time since I was a kid..... I'm starting to not miss a microwave...

I have lived without a microwave for one full week... Just call me Martha Stewart

Z - "Dax let me read to you!" A love it!!!

We moved into our house five years ago tomorrow.... And tomorrow we move out and move into a new house... Apparently February 15th is moving day for the mattes household

Sweetest kids today! Zoey has been soooo nice to Dax today

Had my first parent teacher conference as a parent... Zoey got rave reviews! And is a genius!

"Daddy I need to go potty" - Dax = greatest thing said tonight        

Read to me...

Zoey is doing great with her reading... She is half way reading half way memorizing ... Which to me is still pretty darn amazing! She can memorize a whole book just about word for word...

Now we are trying to encourage her to read to other people... But occasionally she will volunteer to read to Dax! On this particular night seeing them act so sweet erased a lot if the craziness from earlier in the day.... It gave this mom a bit of hope...
