Beach Weekend 2012

Gary's 20-year High School Reunion was this past weekend.. so we rented a condo on the beach..
On friday we brought the kids out to see the condo and go to the beach, but it was raining so we settled for playing in the sound...

Zoey found a hermit crab..

The kids exploring the condo before it was time to leave...

I took the kids back and Dax slept... then my mom came into town to watch the kids while we went to the reunion activities... We had so much FUN!

On Sunday... we had sometime before my mom brought the kids back..
I went to the beach ALONE!! it was nice...

Then Holly and Haley came to play.. and the kids showed up, so we went to the pool...

and then back to the sound to find Zoey's hermit crab...

Thankfully Zoey found another one...

..and swimming...

...and stalking the hermit crab more...

... then it was time to relax in the condo.... well that didn't work...

so we held them off as long as possible until we took them to the beach...

.. daddy came to help look for shells... and play in the water...

my three favorite people

finally an updated picture of all four of us...

then we watched the sun go down...

and Daxton became EXHAUSTED!

... and Zoey did sand angels...

...and then we made sand castles...

... and eventually everyone passed out...

I loved being there.... I loved being with my family.. .and having NOTHING else to do except be together as a family... it was my favorite day... possibly ever.

Children's Museum

Pensacola recently opened a new children's museum.. so we wandered our way there one day...
This museum focuses on Pensacola History... which is pretty interesting actually. It was just big enough for them.. and just small enough to let me keep my eye on them...

Daxton sailing the ship...

 Zoey as a frontier girl....

Building a fort!

Little stinker boy...

Dax came up and showed me his hand.....
yeah I thought the same thing...
But it was just chocolate... phew...

Zoey drew a beautiful rainbow picture...

and then Dax sat on it....

Now that she can swim...

she is a fish....

.... so why not go snorkeling... at the beach...

there is no stopping her....

4th of July!

This year we tried to keep the 4th of July fairly low key...

We went over to Grandma and Pop's House.. and first celebrated Dax's birthday.. again!
Per Dax's request.. pink cupcakes. (this is due to his love of the book Pinkalicious)

Zoey with some fireworks!

Sam loving them too...

Uncle TJ and his brother's the supervision of the fireworks..

Alex and Zoey with the computer... these two LOVED any type of video game.

All the cousins..

Zoey weaseled her was into spending the night with Sam, and going to the Davis family celebration. like she had done all week, in fact she began to call Tj's mom, grandma shirley......

So it was just me and Dax to watch the "pretties" as he called them.. a perfect end to a great day...

Back home...

It was a nice feeling being HOME again!...
and We loved that Haley and Holly came over to greet us home!

The girls quickly put Dax back in his place...

Zoey was missing her daddy... so made him a picture of LOVE!

Zoey basically moved in to her Grandparents house while Sam and Alex were there.. but for one night.. I took all the cousins!

and added Haley to the mix... they had soo much fun!

I don't think this bed is made for two.. but they made it work!

we took all the kids to the beach.. and Kim showed them every sea creature out there

Thankfully all the cousins played well together.. and bonded over a few songs and dances..

Playing in Pop's truck is always fun!

We sure do miss them!
